 Hi al.g,

It's worked for some, and not for others. There's a lot of discussion on this SEO strategy. If done properly it can really help you build a lot of backlinks to your site. It's lost a bit of its efficacy because of the Panda updates. The blogs/websites linking to your main affiliate site should give value to viewers as well. They should also be within the same niche in order for them to help boost your main site's rankings. These forum threads might help:

 It does work. But you have to maintain the dignity of the technique. Use high quality informative content to make link wheel....use article sites, web 2.0 sites for making the link wheel perfect....

 I agree. This method is effective, but you have to map our your "plan of attack" so to speak. Google is now eyeing sites with unnatural links as well so you really have to have a link building strategy that applies to your niche/site.

 Hi there!

I think, link wheel strategy works uniquely to anyone who'll be using that particular method. Just as what vikassingal2002, the content of your site counts. It is because through those good articles, you'll be having traffic for your sites as well and the next thing you know, they'll be browsing the sites which are linked with a particular one. It is just a domino effect. If you'll be able to make them visit one of your site, it will be a bridge towards the other site creating the link wheel. That is what I think in regards to the purpose of link wheel.

 Link wheel is best off page technique it helps the website to rank for the keywords within a short of time.

 Hello All

Just a quick point.

If you are going to create link wheels, be sure to make the wheel big enough and diverse enough to keep it looking natural. And I would not recommend using this strategy too much.

Google is getting better and better at recognizing this type of link building and will likely punish high use of this technique in the years to come.

Yes it worked for me. No using anymore as I found other ways to promote my products.

 For myself I have done a good bit of research and decided not to bother, it just seems like a lot of extra work and I don't think you will get much if any extra push from it if you know what I mean, I just kept doing the normal things and they have been working out for me just fine. Not only that you really have to keep track of who you are linking to from this little article and that article and it could end up looking line a spider web of what is going where.

 A link wheel is the process of creating 12 or so (or sometimes up to 116) new blogs/microsites on a particular topic. On each of those sites, you write 200 words of unique content, and include 1 link to your targeted site, and 1 link to one of your other blogs/microsites.Now the trick here, and why link wheels are so effective is the new blogs and microsites we create are on sites like Hubpages.com, Wordpress.com, Blogger.com, which are established, PR6, PR7, PR8 sites, and the subsequent blogs benefit from these attributes.Find more info here
