What is Facebook advertising?

Can you please explain what Facebook advertising is? Is it merely including your links on social profile pages or emailing members about your business?

Hi kallayprasanth05,

Facebook advertising is the paid advertising offered by Facebook. This is different from social media marketing.

Is it merely including your links on social profile pages or emailing members about your business?

>>> Placing links to content on your site on your Facebook wall is part of social media marketing. I would not recommend sending emails to people who like your site's Facebook page though as that can be misconstrued as soliciting or spamming.

The following lesson might help:
Affiliate Marketing on Facebook

Hope that helps. Have a good weekend!

Facebook ads is kind of a place, where advertisers can run their ads and they are charged based on either clicks or impressions.

With facebook marketing you need to in my opinion spend a hour a day contacting people and their subjects and build a relationship then you market to them .

Yes Facebook open a great opportunity to online marketers.

More than 1 billion people.
People can be filtered according to their interest, age, gender, location..

So thanks to the Facebook ads you can basically promote your brand, your offer to your target who has the specific criteria above.

A lot of companies get the main part of their sales thanks to Facebook.

You set up ads (images and links) with your specific target, you select your budget.

Then according to this budget your ad will be display more or less often.

Cheers! :)

What can I share with my Facebook friends to promote my income tax business?
Can I share articles or tax cartoons? Is there any spam rules?

I am using facebook directed to locals. I am targeting to my friends who are locals. I am not running ads. Amy marketing plan needs to be directed to people who would become a customer. I like a marketing plan that is specifically targeted.

Correct Facebook marketing involves spending 1 hour a day building relationships.
I am currently sending out messages to friends of friends to add me as a friend.
Then I plan to share links on income tax and cartoons on income tax. I do income tax part time to a local community. People spend 1 hour a day now on Facebook. I have high hopes of this.

Hi chrislee552003,

That sounds good! Having a routine and making sure you are spending some time on a particular link building method helps keep you on track.

I would be a bit careful with sending messages through Facebook as some of your acquaintances might mistake that for spamming, or being pushy. You can ask your close friends to like your page, then make sure to share informative or entertaining posts once a day. Your friends will do the rest and spread your posts to their other friends.

My two cents. Have a good day!

You have always been so helpful to me thanks. A year ago I was adding friends of locals directly. I got a warning from facebook for doing that. I am blessed my family is from the town I live. I grew up here etc. I am messaging friends of friends I do not even know to add me. People spend an hour a day on facebook. I spent last couple of tax season tons of time passing out flyers directly with little results

Hi chrislee552003,

You're welcome! I'm glad to help. :)

You really need to be careful with messaging people on Facebook or adding them as friends just so you can get a like on the page. Link building requires thinking through and strategy. Know your target market and frequent the sites they go to so you can interact with them. You might want to check out if there are Facebook groups for your niche, and join that.

Hope that helps. Have a good day!

The key is building relationships with people in any type of marketing. Facebook marketing you need to do that too. You need to wish people happy birthday, tell them it is a great family picture, etc. You need to allocate time to Facebook for it to be effective.

Facebook becomes more entrenched in people’s lives, marketers seek to engage with Facebook users through an increasingly complex ecosystem of ads, fan pages, news feeds, applications, and events.

Please, do not just spam your links all over facebook. That is sure way to NOT get any traffic! Facebook traffic is gold when you do it correctly! Create your self a fan page based around your market and niche then go to other pages and groups (as your page) and provide value by commenting and asking questions.

A lot of people tend to skip this part and simply post their link everywhere hoping for instant gratification and when they do not get it they move on and or spam even harder. lol

Spend the time and provide value and the people will be good back to you. Its like magic

Facebook advertising is a very big area. You can start your facebook paid campaign to boost your post.
second way is you can make a facebook page through which you can tell your friends and other people about your products and services.
Third is you can create an ad on facebook
you can make polls.
In facebook, just don't concentrate on promoting your links . provide some excited and attractive information so that users like it and visit your website. If you make connections that are always interested in products you are going to promote then there are lots of chances that people will come to your website.

It's advertising on Facebook. Nothing special then advertising on any other network ... it's just that now you place your ads on Facebook.

When I'm starting a new FB page or have a promo, I use Facebook Ads' PPC service to target quality audience. The service is good for targeting a specific audience but it can only do so much. It can bring likes and followers but not engagements.

You still have to work on producing quality contents to get interaction from your audience.

My advice: FB ads is effective but use it sparingly.

Hope this gives you an insight. Enjoy the rest of your week.

Advertisers pay Facebook to show their ad to people who might be interested in their business. Advertisers are able to target specific audience through intricate targeting options based on user defined likes and interests with facebook ad.

Do you have another site that you're pushing them towards, or are you simply using facebook fan pages for the connection? I'd recommend your own site where you can collect their email information so that in the next year you'd have a more direct marketing strategy for those that have visited your page. You could offer a bit of a discount to those that sign up for your email list...and possibly have many returning customers through that. The rules to run promotions on FB are getting trickier because they don't want people just hitting "like" on a page in order to get free stuff. If you are able to squeeze them to your actual site, you can promote how/when you'd like & hopefully see some good results.

If advertisers can target specific audience via Facebook then it can be very fruitful indeed. It is good to know that targeted traffic is possible through Facebook.

Facebook Advertising is nothing but the promotion of a company or brand through Facebook. It is the most famous social site. So marketers use it for their brand promotion.
