How to create a Youtube instream ad?

I'm in the survival niche and there are lots of survival videos on Youtube. I don't want to create videos myself, but I would like to create a youtube instream ad and have it only show at the beginning of videos that are relevant to my free ebook.

Do you think this is a good idea? Somewhere in the in stream ad I could show an image of my free ebook. I'm just not sure how to lay out the video ad - I've never created a video ad before. Anybody have any advice on how to do that?

 The ad can be expensive, that's probably the con with regards to YouTube marketing. What kind of ad are you planning? If you want to advertise on YouTube, you will still need to create a video. You can get the details here: https://www.youtube.com/yt/advertise/

Or you may also use Adwords instead if you do not like to have a video ad: https://support.google.com/adwords/answ ... alse&hl=en

Another workaround here is you can outsource your video in Fiverr and this is less expensive than running your own video ad. Please also refer to Mark's Outsourcing Secrets if you want to outsource a task.

What kind of ad are you planning?


An instream ad.

Unfortunately the ad examples I saw at that youtube link are different than what I would be doing. I'm not even sure if they were instream ads. I just want to get them interested in signing up for my free book. Although I don't see other people doing that so I don't know if it's worth it.

I was going to do adwords and an instream ad, but you make it sound like it might not be worth it when you say it can be expensive. Is it really that much more expensive than adwords?

I'm not interested in creating a channel with videos. I'm in the survival niche and about all the survival videos I've seen had products in them. I'd have to buy a bunch of products just to make some videos. I thought with an instream ad, I could have my ad showing in front of other people's survival videos.

I was thinking I could try to outsource the making of the video since I don't know how to make the video myself anyway. But I still need to know what to say in the video. That I'm not really sure about.

Also, for ideas on how to create your own ad, it is a good idea to check out similar websites with video presentations to see how these sites present and promote their products.
