Clickbank Products, Optin Pages & Affiliate Commissions

Hello,

I am nearly ready to launch my latest product in earnest and get affiliates to promote it.

Some products available via Clickbank lead visitors to an optin page only, not a sales letter.

I would like to do the same, i.e. set things up so that when my affiliates send traffic to the optin page and the person opts into the list, the referring affiliate receive commission credit at any point thereafter from those sales resulting via the email follow-up.

At this point, I do not know how to do that. I only know how to set up a sales page and make that the hoplink page. So, how do I set up things up so that the page that affiliates send traffic to is the optin video page, not a one-time only sales letter? Can I do that via the Clickbank system, or do I need to set this up via external software or something?

Regards,

Yeah, just change the hop link destination URL in your CB account to your video squeeze page. Super easy :)

Hope this helps.

Thank you.

Is that basically what everyone does? I thought the hoplink, at least according to Clickbank, has to lead to a page where something is explicitly for sale?

Actually, after posting here, I suddenly remembered that I have a script called CB Affiliate Master that enables one to create a range of pages that have the hoplink embedded. I tried it out and it works on this problem. So, issue solved, at least as far as those coming to my affiliate sign-up site are concerned. Of course, if they come from the Clickbank Marketplace, they are still going to get only the basic sales page link.

I'm actually in a pretty similar situation as you.

I link the default hop link to the opt-in form. That's because my product is at a higher price point than most other products in the marketplace, so I can't sell it as easily with just a direct link to a sales page.

Instead getting someone on a newsletter allows me to build trust with them over a few days to the point where they feel ready to invest at a higher price point.

It goes against the grain of what a lot of CB affiliates are used to (at least in my niche), so I set the default hop link to the squeeze page to keep them from promoting the product in an ineffective way :)

I have Easy Click Mate, which i guess is pretty similar to CB affiliate master. It let's me turn any URL into an affiliate link so I can turn webinar sign up forms into hop links or anything else for that matter. I'm not limited to just having one hop link.

Hope this helps.

Hi there,

Yes indeed. It always makes the most sense to do this, both for vendor and affiliate. It does seem that Clickbank doe snot really agree though. So, the answer seems to be, as you mention and as I found out too, 3rd party script software.
