How do I set file permissions in Affilorama Premium Hosting?

There are several tools that you can use for changing file permissions on your Affilorama hosting account. The easiest way is to do this is by using the File Manager.

  1. In your Affilorama Premium Hosting control panel, click on File Manager under the Files section.

  1. Select the directory public_html on the left pane of the File Manager. This should load all the files and directories inside the public_html folder on the right pane of the File Manager.

  1. Right-click the file that you want to modify and select chmod from the dropdown menu.

  1. You can select the permissions (read, write and execute) from the options or just enter the mode number into the Or enter a mode number box. For php files, suggested file permission is either 600 or 644. For files that contain usernames and passwords (configuration files such as wp-config.php), you must set the permission to either 600 or 400. And then click Save.

Note: Changing the file permissions using the File Manager is only applicable of you are modifying a small number of files. For changing permissions of multiple files and directories, you have to use the chmod command via Scheduled Task.
