I'm looking for either paid or free PLR articles on anything related to going green. What are some of the best sources of PLR articles?

I always find SEO forum sites a good place to find quality PLR articles. You may check out Warrior Forum or Digital Point for PLR articles.

 Definitely forums are one of the best places to find PLR articles. Another source I've used so many times with good quality is PLRAssassin, offering both free and paid options.

 If you can't find a good source for PLR, you can have one written for you. Check out Upwork or eLance for writers who can help you with the research and write up the articles for you.

This way you own the PLR completely and can sell it, or place them on your site, or offer it as an eBook to your subscribers.

 if we buy these articles can we use them without getting into trouble or getting our sites shut down . doesn't that make it so that everyone who buys it all is putting out all the same content?

When you use plr you are supposed to make it your own. Not use them word by word. It's basically to give you idea's. This way everyone who uses it won't have the same content.
