Some Ingredients That Make Great Content:

Writing quality content is a choice. You can select to put in the time and work needed to write quality content and create a prosperous brand. Or you can choose to take the easy path and write poor content – a path that ultimately will get you nowhere. It will only result in a waste of time, energy and resources.

1. Create Original Content
2. Always Focus On Creating Strong Headlines
3. Make Your Content Actionable
4. Be Able to Provide Answers
5. Be Accurate in Your Reporting and Sourcing of Information
6. Create Engaging and Thought Provoking Content
7. Communicate Better by Adding Images and Video
8. Write Short and Pointed Content
9. Make Continual Updates to Your Website or Blog

Some things I've found useful on this, keyed to your suggestions above are:

6- creating contrarian content, which is taking the opposite view from the majority and explaining why.

8- mixing short content with long content

9- Once a year, I'll review old content--anything more than a year old--- on the blog and site to see how I can make it better.

Not on your list but worth mentioning: once you write/updated it, share on social media. This has worked very well for me on FB, and a little bit less well on Twitter.

 Keep in mind that "content" doesn't mean articles or reviews. They can be videos and infographics and slide presentations.

It's a good idea to review any content you've published and update them with new information, or present them in a different way. Like instead of a review, you can re-hash it and add a comparison checklist with a competitor's product.

You forgot to mention the most important thing of all, and that is: documentation.
You can`t write anything of value if you don`t do a thorough documentation first.

You don't have to pepper your content with different rhetorical devices, but using one or two within your content isn't so bad.

Rhetorical devices help you to better articulate the message in your articles.
