How to properly cite sources online

What is the best practice for referencing other people's work or ideas in blogging?

Is there a good guideline to use, in terms of when you have to reference or not?

If you do have to reference, what are the most popular ways to do so? At that bottom of the page? Right after the reference, highlight the word and make it link? Any other suggestions?

Thank you

There are different ways to cite a source, you may quote the source, or link back to the source. Here is a good long form explanation on how you properly cite a source online:

Cite net postings as you want a typical web entrance. Give the name of the post in quotation marks, the writer of the job, the internet site name in italics and the date. Follow together with the date of accessibility. Contain display names.

To mention paraphrased material in the text of your paper, put the author's last name in parentheses at the end of the sentence where the paraphrase appears. Place a comma after the author's name, then type the year the origin was published.
