Selling Text Link on Site

Hi,
Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with selling text links on their website. I was approached by a company that has started paying me $55 per month to include a link on one subpage within my site (within the written text) to their clients site.

My site is google rank 2 at the moment, I am not sure if $55 per month is the going rate in the market or not??? I also wanted to know if anyone could recommend other companies or text link brokers that are good and I could register with in order to include other paid links on other pages in my site.

Thanks for your help

What happens if your site falls in pr? Won't it look suspicious to google if I buy a link from you and cancel later? how is that going to help me long term? Why not sell permanent links?

Balazs - I would be interested to know the reason why you would not go for something like this?

Steven - It is my understanding that it is a permanent link, the paying company can always cancel the contract if my site's PR decreases or it is not working for them. I do not think it has anything to do with Google, but as I said I am new to this and if you can shed more light on the whole thing I would be very interested to know.

Wes - I tried the link but it does not seem to work - boo hoo

thanks

I have several sites where I sell links. Some have come and gone. It's been over a year and I have not noticed anything negative about adding a text link.

The problem from what I know isn't when you add a site then delete it, it is when you buy tons of links to a bunch of farm sites, then you stop paying, and all of a suddent you have those links disapear. That is a red flag to Google that you were farming out your links. This is where you don't want to play.

That's Smy Thoughts on That,

Thanks Chrisi,
If you do not mind, could you let me know where you mainly get your links from? and what approximate payment do you get?

Thanks

I understand that Google is cracking down on paid links, and that even reciprocal link aren't as good as they use to be.

I am personally keen to use 3 way linking to avoid the problem, if you need to find out more checkout the URL:
