Increasing Search Engine Rankings Without Backlinks

Hey Gang,

I'm curious about something... I'm showing increasing rankings in Google and other search engines for one of my sites but have no backlinks showing in Traffic Travis or Yahoo Site Explorer. How does Google rank these pages? Just based on people finding then in searches?

How new is the site? Does the site have a high grade on "on-page" SEO?

 It's all A or better. I got the domain on the 1st of October so it's 22 days old.

 Stephen,

In my experience, search engines rank new websites based on their domain. It will rank for a short time and then disappear. You have to start your SEO campaign to have it back in the SERPs and that will then be "official", you just have to keep working on your SEO campaign to be where you want the site to be. Then it's all maintenance from there, like submitting 1 or 2 articles a week or something.

Since the site has no backlinks, it won't be long before it is taken out by the search engines from its SERPs.

 Already working on backlinks so they should be coming eventually. Slow and steady... :)

 I know this is temporary, but 2 of my pages are now on the first page of results in Google and 4 on on the second. :) It's fun to watch. LOL

 it s good see that, just make sure you build some good backlinks so that you can get back there. Also you can get some starter traffic and possibly get some sales quickly because of that.
