Hey,

You must be new around here. LOL. Welcome!

Have you taken Mark's recommendation and signed up for AMAutomation.com? It's about $50/month and you can submit unlimited articles, re-write each sentence a couple of times, and it spins hundreds of copies most of the time! Each new version of the article is submitted to a quality website or blog that is relevant to your topic, and so over time it builds hundreds of backlinks from quality sites with unique content! Now down the line, this is awesomely powerful for your backlinking in the eyes of Google.

You can also post articles (with links back to your sites) on free Web2.0 platforms such as squidoo, wordpress, blogger, ezinearticles, articledashboard, amazines, goarticles, etc., etc., etc. This is the free method!

There are many, many backlinking strategies out there but here at affilorama if you follow Mark Ling's strategy then you pretty much have the best one.

Note: Pay attention to the "Mr.K Linking Strategy" in these forums...if you can wrap your mind around this one and how RSS works to multiply your backlink power, then you will be ahead of the game and seeing those awesome rankings in no time!!!

Hi all.
I have just started in this forum and this is my first post. I could not find a place for newbies so was worried. After looking at the various posts, I felt reading this one mainly because I have just started to realise that PR is an essential factor and backlinks help in getting the ranks faster.

Oh, I forgot to mention - I have just started getting into the world of Websites development. So I hope that these posts and threads will help me gain knowledge. And, you all will excuse me, tell me what is right and wrong as a newbie.

@rubanz:
Thanks for your recommendation. I have just learnt a tip. I have heard of exchange sites and also tried one for my blog. Will that help too?

To increase Page Rank you need quality back links. Use link building techniques like...
1. Submit all the major search engine's
2. Submit Social bookmarking
3. Submit Directories
4. Participating in more forum, Google, Yahoo & Orkut Communities
5. Article submission,
6. Blog commenting , pod casting to get back links.

Start with initial strategy to get the rank on your most search volume key phrase through directory submission. After Directory submission, start with social book marking, article, PR, forum, and Blog commenting.

So many people say you need high pr backlinks but like James says a lot a backlink is a backlink as long as it is on your subject is what is most important. All of my backlinks are within my subject matter and very few are high PR. Most don't have good anchor text because most are coming from forums or blogs were you have to log in and the anchor text is coming from your long in or profile. But they are all in my subject but some of the posts I have commented on had no PR when I commented but now they are PR 2's and 3's not real high but OK. Because all my backlinks are from within my subject I don't feel like the anchor text is super important and I think because I have 8 pages from my site on page one of Yahoo and 3 pages on page 1 in google and another 5 pages on page 2 of google makes me think it isn't as important as I once thought.

As far as I am concerned I would rather have 20 zero page rank links to my site from sites that are within my niche then 1 pr 8 site that has nothing to do with my niche. Posting on forums and blogs is every bit as good as writing articles as long as your comments aren't crap like great article or something else short and meaningless. As long as you say something that makes sense and the people know you read the article you are commenting on you won't get banned from that site and the links won't be considered span links.

Content is the king in SEO so if you provide good content in your website then your website would get more traffic and increase your page rank. Also you can enlist your website on popular bookmarking sites and on social media websites which would definitely attract more visitors to your website.

Participating in blogs through comments and eventually guest posting/blogging can give you both traffic and backlinks from blogs related to your website. We just published an article on blog commenting:

SEO Blog Commenting 101

Hope that helps. Have a good day!

Just about everything you do can be a backlink. Answer or comment on yahoo-answers or answers, articles,
twitter, linkedin, facebook, and of course blog posts can all link back to your site and help your ranking. It just takes a little time. Whenever and wherever you provide new content, make sure to ping wherever possible and practical.

I had a new site a few years ago with no ranking in a very competitive market and ranked it very quickly in the top 1/2% of sites in the world. It is a never ending learning process. Don't get lazy or it will run by you.

Ok everybody says the same all the time do this to that. i believe that there is a nasty tricky in al this SEO confusion. I have a kw with 6000 exact match searches and my #1 spot not page competitor is a forum which contains only 15 exact match keyword anchor text back links. I've made 100 with that anchor with all free WEB 2.0 socilal i mean everything free possible out there and still siting on 3rd page 5th place, it was on 2nd for a while... and only get a page rank increase... heheh unbelievable simply to kill my self :).
The most interesting stuff is that that forum which has those 15 exact anchor kw back links are on site's where are apearing also porn videos, pop ups an so.
So can somebody tell me now something.
Cheers

Hi,

The answer for you is simple enough. Build some other types of links. Get blog comments, do a guest post or two, or three... etc. publish some high quality articles, get into some directories and all kinds of other links you can get, just as long as they are high quality and not autogenerated by some software. Since you say you are only using free web 2.0 I'm sure that you just need some link diversity.

The other possibility is that your competitor analysis is not complete and there are other things going on that you haven't discovered.

It usually takes some time for everything to start going really good with SEO. I would recommend anchor diversity though. Don't just link back to your site using the same keyword , variate using different combinations. For example if you are targeting the keyword "stop wasting gas" you can also use "how to stop wasting gas" so like that you don't get hit by search engine for over optimization and in the long run it is more beneficial because you will rank for more different keywords.

Just be really patient , keep working at it , don't do any automated SEO just all manual. No spamming , leave good posts and comments. It is better if you post/comment on sites that are related to your niche as well.

The most important thing is don't give up , keep at it and you will rewarded for your patience and determination.
