I’ve been brainstorming my next big adventure

I’ve been brainstorming my next big adventure and Kyrgyzstan keeps popping up as a top destination for road trips. The landscape looks absolutely insane with those mountain passes. I’m from the USA and usually stick to the National Parks back home, but this is a completely different scale. Has anyone navigated these routes? I am worried about the terrain and whether a standard sedan is even worth considering.

 You made me look it up - and I wasn't disappointed! Seriously, those mountains I check look so beautiful. From a practical point of view, I'd definitely recommend thorough research (and I mean thorough). But I imagine it would be quite an experience.
