How Can An Adult Site Have Higher Conversion?

Hi,

I've recently started a new adult website - a community for amateurs to share pics of themselves with others. We're using two separate affiliate types - one for UK visitors & one for everywhere else (generally US). The affiliates we've gone for are either sex toys or Adult Friend Finder (adult dating site).

However, we're new to both the adult & affiliate arena, so would appreciates some feedback on what we have & any advice people have on how we can make more of the website. We have a good core of members, but need more & need to find a way of getting more traffic to the site without great expense & in a very competitive marketplace!

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks, SteveT

Hi Steve,

I haven't tried my hand at adult websites or dating sites, but I think the marketing and link building methods would be the same as that of any other site. You need to find and build relationships with sites that are in the same niche or community like forums (there are plenty of this) and blogs ( I've stumbled over a few in Tumblr). You can participate in these sites to promote your site, or advertise on them. There's also advertising on Facebook and other social media sites.

Hope that helps. Have a good day!

Thanks Cecille.

We've found a way of driving lots of traffic to our site, but the issue we're having is conversions. People are coming to the site for (being blunt) hot pics, so they're not necessarily in a buying frame of mind. We're currently promoting sex toys primarily.

Does anyone have suggestions for how we could improve the conversion rate - either suitable products in ClickBank, or changes to the design / layout, or something else we're missing?

We've got a great site with lots of visitors, it's just that final cog in the machine that's not quite there....

Thanks, Steve

A few days ago we dropped our existing affiliates we were promoting and have started using 100% ClickBank affiliates, with promotions related specifically to adults (tattoos, dating, dating advice etc). In the last two days we've had around 2000 visitors, with 52 clicks on ads - around 2.6% clickthrough. No sales as yet.

Appreciate that our site isn't dedicated solely to promoting affiliate products, but interested in how this compares to other's experiences here and if anyone has any suggestions for increasing the click-through rates, or converting clicks to sales?

Thanks, Steve

Hi Steve,

I think one problem with the site is that the images are readily available to users. Have you considered making these images members only? This would help increase sign ups. Another option is to make the images readily available, but only in batches, Like a user gets access to 10 images and then after that gets an ad. They can then either purchase or opt out. Then they get another set of images, and so on and so forth.

I also suggest looking at your competitor sites and see how their site works. When it comes to conversions. it's more of a trial and error. You have to test various strategies to see which one works best for the site.

Hope that helps. Have a good day!
