Free Marketing Methods

Hi everyone I have been an affiliate marketing now since december 2012 and only managed to make a couple of sales. I would welcome any advice to help me along in my journey. I have tried PPC but I am on a very small budget, I have tried social network marketing and also have a couple of websites up and running.
I am no genius when it comes to things like SEO so without a big marketing budget i struggle to get all my hard work noticed.
If anyone has any ideas i.e free ways of marketing I would love to hear from you.
Please i do not want people that are going to post me links to scam websites i am not willing to sign up to any more as i have been ripped off to many times.

 Hi dwaindibs,

I suggest you focus on the one site where you're earning the most, and promote that site. Drive traffic to the site and build backlinks to it through blog/forum commenting, guest posting and social media marketing. These methods do not require any fees if you do them by yourself. These methods also help get traffic to your site.

 Have your own blog and build traffic to it to see the results in the course of time. SEO takes its own time. Organic traffic is the real traffic that assists in website conversion.

I don't believe that organic traffic is the only traffic that helps website conversion. The traffic that you get from blog/forum commenting and social media sites can also help increase conversions.

Cecille is right. Focus on your website. Optimize your post/page with high targeted traffic. Then create your backlinks in your website. I saw your anchor text its only (affiliate marketing for beginners) its look like spam links on google. Don't stick with one anchor text. Or put your business in social engines. Another way to gain traffic is create a viral strategies.

 well, based on reading what you have said, you are like everyone else of us. I would like to recommend one key point, and that is- Patience. Be patient, and try to be on the learning curve, for a greater point of time in the beginning, and a little but constant time later. Read through threads, figure out whats going to be the best, we can only recommend or help, but the hard work is to be done by you, so keep yourself always Buckled Up!

 Small budgets are tough, best be focused on Quality Content + SEO-SMM.

-So create quality content that helps people.

-Optimize for search engines.

-And participate on social networks like Facebook and Twitter.

 Yes, like all, I will also advice you to focus on one site from where traffic is coming to your website. Moreover, if you want traffic from some other sources then you can make your blog and start promoting your services there in the form of content that is informational plus promotional.

 If you are already getting some traffic to your blog and making some sales, why not focus on increasing your conversions?

For example, is your site "faceless"? Does it have a person behind the site such as a bio box or about me page?

Even what you say in your anchor text to your affiliate link and where it is placed can affect your conversions.

 My advice would be to analyze, analyze, analyze. Look at each step of the process. Could quality be improved? If you're using social media for marketing, analyze your demographic, posting times, posting types (photo vs. text), whether most of your visitors are using laptops or mobile devices, then be sure that you're optimizing your posts based on that information. Where are they directed to from there...do you have a squeeze page? Research SEO, then implement what you've learned. Blog/Forum commenting works well as long as you're using backlinks. There are so many steps in the process, that it is very easy to miss a little bit in the process. I'd definitely focus on one site at a time until you feel you've worked out any kinks you can find. Good luck!

 use forums....they are mostly free and social media platforms.

Then use social media to initially acquire your target market. Inform and direct them to your website by posting engaging and quality contents. Of course, always make sure that when they visit your site, they see quality content as well.
