Adult Affiliate Program

Hi,

The keyword "SEX" always gets highest counts on all search engines but have never promoted adult merchants. I would like to know whether promoting adult merchants online would be a good idea.

If any one has the experience in promoting adult merchants online then I would really appreciate if you could share your experience and let us know if adult products provide more earnings than regular products. Kindly share some good adult affiliate programs.

I look forward to your advise.

Regds,

its a hard one to do as search engines will not list them because thay have rules to do with porn etc there is money to be made from it but its a whole different ball game you have to manual submit to places that will accept it

Your best bet is to go with something a little softer. There are many sub-topics of sex that can be sold just as easily. If you use the word sex in any way, forget about ever doing Adwords and real marketing. Trust me, I have a domain, with the word "Sex" in it and it has been nothing but a pain to promote. I though the same thing, that it would just take off, but it's rather time consuming and difficult. Hope that helps.

Sex may be the most popular topic on the planet, but I wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole. Because of the way the subject has been misused, it automatically creates a negative image in many peoples minds. I agree with the person who said go with something related, but I would stay away from things that are overtly sexual.

Hi, I have just opened a new website that I am marketing for the "sexually adventurous". It has only been online about three weeks and I have had about 1000 visitors but no sales. I don't know how they found me as I just listed with search engines this week. I also listed with blog directories this week with good success. Where I am running into trouble is trying to register with Directories. Most of them say no adult sites - period.. I have a pretty racey blog that supports the webstore which sells things like leather corsets, lingerie, sexy shoes, costumes, romantic games and even chocolate body paint.

So far conversion is terrible (translate nonexistant)! I made a point of keeping prices low so do not see price as an objection. Do not know why it is not working. Feedback appreciated. Love Sex Laughs at: http://www.lovesexlaughs.com Any suggestions appreciated. I have put in tons of time on this and feel sure it will work but am a little frustrated so far. Any feedback is appreciated!

As far as sex affiliate programs going - they are out there. I ran across one called cinemaerotique (.com - I think) if you want to promote skin flicks (some of which are a cut above girls with dirty feet rolling around on mattresses but still pretty lame). You can find them by going to adult blog directories.

Hope that helps.

Most folks seem to go to the home page URL then deeper into the store. Very few seem to be going just to the blog. I have had no sign ups yet so I am in the process of writing 10 Tips to Improve Your Lovelife which I will provide free when someone registers. I am hoping that will allow me to start building a list. My traffic shows slow but steady increases as I continue to list with directories. I guess my next idea will be to visit forums in the sexual arena and use a signature line with my website address. I guess eventually, I will buy some keywords. I can't wait to make my first sale. As I have said, my prices are quite low so once the site is in good circulation, it should be a winner. Keep your fingers crossed for me. In the meantime if any of you are thinking of surprising your wife or girlfriend with some lovely lingerie or if you women want to get some warming massage oil for your husband, boyfriend or girlfriend (whichever the case may be...) be sure to stop by and take a look. What is the online expression SPS (Self Praise Stinks...). Enough about me... What do you think of me (my site)? http://www.lovesexlaughs.com.

Hello,

I took a look at your site as I have discussed a site/blog as an avenue. A friend of mine is quite a good writer and she already gets lots of hits on her forum pages. Anyways, looking at your site and I think it has a lot of great info. I also like the color choice. As a new visitor, this is the constructive feedback:
- It seems hard to navigate through parts of the site. I went to the store, but couldn't get back to the Home page.
- Not all of the title tags are optimized.
- The home page does not have a visual anchor. Maybe take it down to one, wide column of text?
- The blog posts are a bit long and don't seem real. You could also do some occasional sales by placing links in your blog.
- Signing up for the newsletter is not an option from the home page (if it is, it's hard to find).
- I think the prices and products are great - I just need a reason to purchase, to feel connected, feel like I need to purchase your items, there is not a call to action or sense of urgency.

I hope my feedback helps.

Thanks, very much for visiting and giving feedback. That is exactly what I was hoping for. You put your finger right on some of the reasons my site is not converting, I think. I am going to work on those things. Now this has been productive. Again, THANKS!

Just to update you... I bought some PPC and had an immediate increase in traffic but still not many sales. I have had critics say there was way too much text on home page but not enough to make folks interested in going deeper into the site. I am currently adding some provocative pictures spread among all that text. Folks will be able to click on the pictures and go straight to the product page in the "store" area. I should have it complete by the 3rd of March if yaw'll take a look and give me some more feedback, I'd really appreciate it.. I also wrote a report 10 Tips to a Better Sexlife & Relationship that is on an autoresponder when folks register for my newsletter. Problem is, they are getting the free report but not clicking on the link to authorize me to send newsletters per the CAN SPAM Act. I am using get response. Does anyone have experience with this? Will it take two autoresponders? One to sign up with a response to "click this link to authorize me to send further info... Then - sending the report? Seems kinda convoluted but it may be the only way to get a list going... What do you think?

There are current PPC campaigns for adult web sites and products. This ad is the best performing one and has been running since 10/22/08, using 300 keywords and holding the second position:

Sex Toys Superstore
Huge Selection at Discount Prices
Free Erotic Enhancer w/Every Order!
www.somethingsexyplanet.com

The search I did was for the keyword "love and sex" which has an average search volume of 74,000 and average cost of $.83 CPC. I hope this helps.

Hi, Dudeverve. I appreciate your research on my behalf. I tried PPC but not the keywords you used. I used: lingerie, corset, bustier, thong, sexy shoes, sexy dresses, romantic games... Traffic climbed high and fast but I only made a couple of sales for my $200 PPC investment... Perhaps if I tried - buy lingerie, shop for corset,... that sort of keyphrase and did a PPC on those, I'd get less traffic but at least it would be quality and more targeted. I have never seen this discussed anywhere but it seems logical. The 89 cent cost for love and sex is out of my price range. I was paying 7 - 15 cents for the keywords I used in my earlier PPC.

I have just rebuilt my landing page adding pictures of models in lingerie. The pictures are clickable so as to draw folks deeper into the site (hopefully) and the optin has been redesigned to be more esthetically pleasing and to work better with the page design. Feedback on new design would be appreciated.

Now to complicate things further, I am going to change hosting providers from godaddy to Hostgater. Godaddy was just costing me too much money. I have been with them for years and really like their customer service but after checking out Hostgator, it looks like I can get similar services for much much less. (No, I am not a Hostgator affiliate - smile). I am worried that my site may be down a few days as I make the transfer. I suppose now is better than after I have lots of steady traffic.

Again, thanks for your help and suggestions

Sure Goldengate! Would it be helpful if I ran the numbers on the keywords you used? Also, the 83ยข was for the #1 position. You could easily have the 4th or 5th position and still do well. Let me know.

You are a big help! I read somewhere that 3rd position was actually better than 1st. Some convoluted reason about folks wanting to look further than first site they come to before making a buy decision...

Happy to help. AS I understand it, there are several advantages to 3rd, 4th or 5th places, such as much lower CPC, higher conversions, etc. I'll take a look at your specific keywords this morning.
