Where To Get A Drop Down Menu Like This?

Hello everyone. The other day a friend asked me about building a website with a configurator in bedded within it.

I have never done this before but have seen them on websites so its possible. It my be over my head but I told my friend I would at least get some info for him.

This is a example of what I'm talking about http://www.fueloffroad.com/iconfigurators/

This website sells wheels and it allows you to see what the wheels look like on your vehicle before you go and buy them.

My friend wants the same thing except he builds off road bumpers with different options for pickups so he wants to be able to show all the options he offers.

He is not consernd about the vehicles but just having a basic bumper then the visiter could be able to add options to it and see what it looks like.

How do you think these configurators are made?

Thanks nathan

Hi Nathan,

The site you're referring to does not appear to have been built on Wordpress. It's most likely that a developer created the site and coded the "configurator" as you call it. Your friend can try getting in touch with a developer in oDesk or eLance and see if they could create something similar for him.

If he is using Wordoress then he could try some of the advanced form contact form plugins like Gravity Forms. This is a paid plugin that has some advanced options. May be it could be manipulated to act the same way.

Hope that helps. Have a good day!

Searched around that sites' code a little and found this:
http://iconfigurators.com/

You would have to hire a web developer to implement it into your buddy's site, like Cecille said. ;)

Well I'm a web designer so that's why he ran this idea past me. I have read up on it and think it could be possible to pull off. The configurator mentioned above is a 3rd party software that you code into the regular website.
