Template vs Custom Design: What's the Better Choice?

Hi everyone,

I’m starting a new website and trying to decide between using a pre-built template or designing it from scratch. Templates are convenient and cost-effective, but I’m worried they might limit future customization. Custom design seems more flexible, but it’s obviously more time-consuming and expensive. Has anyone faced this choice before? What did you end up doing, and how did it work out?

Also, would working with a professional web development company offer better long-term value, especially in terms of performance, scalability, and support? I’d appreciate any advice or experiences from others who’ve been in a similar situation.
