How to add category specific posts to a page

Ok. Let me preface this post by saying that I'm a complete noob when it comes to coding, php, and webdesign in general. All I want to accomplish is showing posts from JUST my motivation category on my seperate motivation page. I've already found snippets of code around the internet but I haven't the slightest idea of where to put it! Any insight or advice will be much appreciated. Thank you!

 Thank you very much!! That helped a lot! It's getting easier and easier every day. Hopefully I start to pick up on PHP code so my side doesn't look so generic for too much longer.
