Hosting Forever?

Everyone knows that hosting is a must and a good one is better.
Some people care more some people care less. Having a free hosting can take its toll so paying a small fee will reflect in speed, space, functionality and of course needless headaches.

Some time ago a " hosting forever" services came up offering to host your site forever for a certain fee which sometimes can get up to 100$ + - .
The question that arise is- does it worth it.
If its a well known hosting service you may consider the option. But to promise to host your site forever is still a doubtful offer because "Issues " with a hosting is something that many people dealt with.

So the question is whether to pay once a --- or to pay forever.
I personally never used a pay for life hosting service and would like to hear if someone did and what are their impressions up until now.

Hi Yulia,

While paying once for a hosting site/service is quite tempting, you should look into considerations why this service is for you as well as weigh in factors that may come in the future when using this hosting service.

If you are building a website for your hobby or perhaps a non money-making website, then maybe this hosting forever is fine. Otherwise, for your business sites, in my opinion, I prefer quality and good customer service.

It is also advised that you look for some reviews relating to this kind of service. This may help a lot in making a decision of purchasing or not a "one-time payment hosting service".

No one can know if that "forever" will actually exist, but what I do know, is that everything is constantly changing and that "forever" service could very well become obsolete soon (you will have it, but it might not do you any good). As more hosting moves to cloud based configurations, etc. Plus, it's nice to have the flexibility to scale up, scale down and move as you need.

Thats pretty much what i was thinking about, it maybe easy to " clear your head" from not thinking about hosting for as long as a lifetime but too many people had too occasional "issues " with their hosting, and of course there are always greater deals that you can find anytime.
Still not sure if i will laugh at myself thinking this way in 10 years or so ,because things will change and develop and we will find ourselves using these services like its the most common thing to do.

I would just break it down into monthly. For instance, if it's $100 to host forever: Lets say on average it costs about $5/month for a host. It takes 20 months to pay off your $100. So after 2 years you're already ahead.

I agree with you completely.Hosting forever may sometimes be disastrous if the service is not worth.I have hosting with Tucktail.com and have the yearly package with them and highly satisfied with their service.Personally I would not opt for a "forever hosting" option because I find it a tactful way of doing business by the respective host provider. It is always unreliable.

I would recommend SiteGround: http://www.siteground.com/

They offer really reasonable pricing on all of their hosting and the customer support is amazing.

Just to be sure that you have a server hosted in Panama, try to look for local (Panama) hosting service providers. There are tons of this online.

You may want to check out this Google page result for your inquiry- http://www.google.com.ph/#hl=en&tbo=d&o ... 66&bih=598

I hope that helps!
