Hostgator Down

The entire hostgator site appears to be down, along with all my sites (25/1/12) aaaagghhh!

Is this a common occurrence?

 Hi,

There are so many different hosting options, which do you use? It depends on if you're using a shared server, a dedicated server, vps. It also depends on dns settings, the datacenter's incoming/outgoing bandwidth and service. Just too many variables to know what's going on so definitely contact tech support. If you're not satisfied, change hosts:)
