Yahoo Search Explorer sunset?

Hello All,

I use Traffic Travis Pro v 3. I raised a ticket about couple of weeks ago when none of the backlinks on the SEO analysis was being seen.

The issue now resolved with a new patch but the number of backlinks as shown earlier has risen to ten times. For example earlier it was showing as 2700 backlinks for a site and now it is showing as 27,000.

I need to ask from where the backlinks info is getting scrapped? If it is not from YSE then from where and how reliable that source is?

Also I understand that YSE is going sunset this month.....so what will be the alternate source to fetch backlinks info?

Appreciate your time to read this post :-)

Have you sent this to TT support ? If you haven't, please do so they can take a further look in the issue. You can reach them through Affilorama support.

The SEO Tools> Backlinks are from google or yahoo while SEO Analysis data are from Majestic SEO.

Hope that helps. Have a good day!

Yes, Cecille is right. The backlinks are being fetched from Majestic SEO and not from Yahoo Site Explorer. Yahoo is currently not a reliable source because they are migrating their data to Bing. So we decided to shift to Majestic SEO.

If you are having problems with TTV3's backlinks tool, please send your project details (site URL, keywords search engine and location) to [email protected]. Thanks!

@Cecille/Michelle, the Ticket #XDI-739376 was already actioned for and a new patch was implemented. My question was earlier with YSE the total backlink no. showed x now it is 10x.

So, you answered me that majesticseo is the source. Just wondering why can't you tie up with http://www.opensiteexplorer.org/ do they also use YSE for their analysis?

I also found the same being used by marketsamurai the blog post here http://www.noblesamurai.com/blog/uncate ... data-2288/

I'm not sure why your YSE backlinks increased from x to 10x but as mentioned, Yahoo is currently not a reliable source.

If you have any feature suggestions (ie using other sources to fetch for backlinks), you can submit them through our new feedback form: http://feedback.traffictravis.com

(Note: SEOMoz is actually being used by TTV4 to get backlinks)

I suggest that you post your feedback/requests/suggestions there since comments made on this page goes directly to our developers' tasks list.

For the few who haven't heard Microsoft-Bing acquired Yahoo and is integrating it into their services and eliminating redundant assets.

A number of backlink services, probably the free ones for the most part are using data generated by Yahoo sites explorer and won't survive without it.
