What are the reasons for Google de-indexing a website?

It can be a painful experience for a website owner if his or her website gets de-indexed by Google for some reason or the other. What do you think are the various reasons for the de-indexing of a website by Google?

Hi kallayprasanth05,

There are several reasons Google de-index a site: negative/spammy links pointing back to the site, no relevant or helpful content, advertisement-laden pages with (again) no helpful content to users, etc.

You can find a good list here of the reasons Google de-index a site: 17 Ways to Get De-indexed by Google

Hope that helps. Have a good day!

A lot of possible reasons.
Duplicat content and bad linkbuilding(spam) are the most popular one.

There are lots of reasons why a website can be de-indexed by Google.

But in most cases the reasons why a site gets blocked by the search engine are links and duplicate content. If a website sells links to other websites, uses some shady link building schemes, buys links, steals content, etc. - that may lead to Google's penalty.

I got this issue with one of my blogs - it got penalized because I bought some low-quality links for it.

Now I always check what sort of links I have with free Webmeup Backlink Tool and scan all my content with Scrapebox.

That doesn't take much time but can protect your site from dropping out of Google!

Backlinks play a major role in page rank because they help determine your site's relevance to other sites and to its target keywords. Linking to sites that are not related to yours no longer have any effect, sometimes they can even negatively impact your site. Exchanging links don't work as well as they used to, if at all.

We really need to be careful now with how we build links because the links pointing back to our sites are used by search engines as a measure of our sites' relevance to the niches our sites are in.

Now a days, Google does not de-index a website till it is not found for any major rule violation. Push down ranking is a common affect of Google punishment in now days. But black hat tricks like hidden content, creating doorway pages and diverting traffic to any other website, creating so many websites with same IP with duplicate content to promote a website etc are few spam work which can become a cause of de- index from Google search results.

I think a lot of bad links and Spamming is the reason of de-indexing.
The other reason is that your site might be penalized by google after any update,. Check it in webmasters.
