Using Bitly To Mask Affiliate Links

Hello
I read the suggestions for masking links but I'm wondering if anyone has tried Bitly to mask links.

I tried it on a couple of products, tied to an image. They seem to work since the click is reflected in my Clickbank account.

I know the introductory lessons suggest php and something else, and this seemed a lot easier/quicker.

Thanks for any feedback you can provide.

Hi Vivian,

Bitly is not recommended to mask your affiliate links. This service provides users a warning for affiliate links. Simply put Bitly doesn't like affiliate links.

You can find good wordpress plugins to cloak your aff links or you can also do a redirect instead. If you have Affilotheme, we do offer a tool to cloak your links.

You can use the Pretty Links plugin if you're using Wordpress.

Hope that helps. Have a good day!

Thank you Cecille..I will try that since I am now only using wordpress. It's certainly better than keeping them "naked."

Hi Vivian,

You're welcome! I forgot to add in my post, if you're using Affilotheme on your website, you can click on Affilotheme > Affiliate Redirects . This is where you can create affiliate redirects in Affilotheme so you don't have to use code or plugins.

Hope that helps. Have a good day!

Thank you for the heads-up on Affilotheme. I don't have the Affilotheme yet; but intend to get it once I'm done with the intro lessons. I suspect that once I do get it and learn its benefits, I will upgrade my sites.
