 will you be adding content to all the profiles or just create your profile and a backlink through the signature / about me page ?

if added content you get much more power and links are more useful

 It would be great if you could add more info on your site/services in your profile signature or biography. Make sure you use your website’s main keywords in the anchor text. Try to incorporate varying anchor text so they appear as natural as possible.

 I agree with Michelle,

It would be better to really establish your company/business profile on these websites so when people will find you, they can see enough information about you and your services without even visiting your website.

Putting anchor links appropriately would also help a lot in terms of SEO. But do not be spammy about this. Thus, I have included "appropriate" so you just put links enough for your profile to stand out and be very useful.

 I have been doing this for about 3 years now and have never heard anyone talk about profile link building and don't know what it is.

Hi Mark,

Profile link building means that you are building your profile (like company profile) to the list of websites above--listing your business name, services, contact, etc. This is like posting your business/service in these websites so people can easily search for you and at the same time, these sites are also helpful for SEO.

 Profile links are nothing different from creating a profile at different sites and then putting your link in signature or the bio of the profile.....You can create top profiles from top social networking site, web 2.0 sites , and forums etc...they will all be considered as profile links...

 Be sure to use these lists correctly, I don't think it is wize to go and build all these profile links in one day.

With googles lattest penguin update they are watching out for bulk simular link building. Do a few each day to keep it looking natural or google might just disregard all of them.
