New Google update about too many Ads on a site

Hey all.

Just came across an article about a Google update that might change the way we set up an Affilorama website. It may not make a huge difference, but I think it's worth a look.

Hi Paul,

Thanks for sharing!

Again, Google shows that they are continuing on their quest to provide quality user experience. They are now coming out with a page layout algorithm improvement.. They say on their site that this affects about 1% of global searches but who knows. They said only a few sites were affected on the last Panda update late last year but there was plenty of talk in various forums from webmasters whose sites got hit.

We do not recommend members to post various ads on their site like AdSense and such because these distract your users from the product you're promoting. We always recommend building a site that offers value to readers. This is what Google is aiming for here. There *are* sites out there made out of just ads, with little to no content and as a Google user I appreciate them trying to take out these kind of sites.

Have a good day!

I have heard about again Google updates recently. Now Google is preparing itself to kill advertisers who earn money through Google adsense. This is the only monopoly of Google to serve users more efficiently. I have started my own Analytics for webiste (Link removed by moderator)

Hi jeniffermaben,

Google is not out to kill advertisers or anything of that sort. They only want users to get right to the information they are looking for instead of having to scroll down the page before seeing its content. There are ways to make ads less obtrusive and this is what Google wants to promote in this algorithm change.

Hope that helps. Have a good day!

Yes, this is actually good news. If all that you serve are ads above the fold, then you are hardly providing quality to the visitor and almost tricking them into clicking on something. This will not convert well and definitely won't have the visitor raving about your site.
