 Seems like the 'latest SEO technique' is to NOT do SEO, or to avoid looking like you are doing any SEO tricks.

Every SEO 'expert' out there is preaching to stop doing this and avoid doing that, I guess we need to do SEO without doing SEO. lol, i.e., do content marketing.

It's exactly what I was thinking after some of the articles that I've been reading lately. I guess just do the basics (keyword ranking, etc.) and then focus on quality content. It's funny to me how SEO went from being the highest priority to the lowest priority so quickly!

 I don't think the emphasis is NOT to do SEO. I think SEO is now a given, minus the black-hat techniques. There is a minimum effort required (the usual, non-sexy suspects: keywords, title tag, etc).

 Hi,

vivianr330 is on point. SEO still works as long as you do not include the black hat techniques. Spamming, keyword stuffing, and all of the things that are geared only to get your web pages ranked in SERPs are not a good idea. Doing black hat will help you rank faster but eventually your website will be penalized by Google.

As long as you stick to creating quality content, quality backlinks, and quality website--- you can rank in SERPs.
