Indexing of profile links

Is it true that profile links to your homepage do not get indexed that often, or that it takes a long time until they do?

 Most forum profiles require you to be logged in to see the actual profile. Since these are pages are protected by passwords, they cannot be accessed by search engines so those links will not count.

 No, you don't need to be always logged in. What I meant was that search engines sometimes cannot access the profile links because the pages are password protected. They would need to log in to see those links.

If you are posting on relevant forums, you will be able to get targeted traffic so you don't need to worry so much about your profile link not being indexed.

 In Affilorama forum's case, a member's profile gets indexed easily, provided that the option 'Make profile private?' is unchecked. I've tested this a few months ago and the test profile I created got indexed in about 2-3 days after it was created.

 a search for my name brings up my Affilorama profile on P2 of google, so I would say they get indexed and ranked fairly easy, since I have a somewhat competetive name to rank for.

michellerana, in your first post here, the training you linked to about how to get your website indexed, we are told to continually post on twitter to get backlinks indexed. Is using twitter nowadays still a relevant way to get indexed because I thought twitter changed everything to "no follow". If that is true could you recommend another option that could do the same thing as twitter was doing to get indexed and backlinks indexed. Thanks.
