How To Rank For A "Very Difficult" Keyword

So i have put up a challenge for myself.

I decided to rank a keyword which is in the "Very Difficult" level of difficulty on Traffic Travis. I want to rank this keyword up to the 1st page of Google.

If there is anyone out there had done this please share your experience. Those who have succeed doing this, please share on how you do it.

I will definitely share my experience let it be if it takes 3-4 months or even 2 years.

If you have any information that could be my reference to help me achieve this mission, you are more than welcome to share that as well.

And to Mark Ling, I would appreciate if you can provide some advice or help as well.

Hi Kheirolfeihzy,

I wish you all the best in your endeavor! Ranking for a difficult keyword is a worthwhile venture, but you're going to be in for quite a challenge for sure!

This article is a bit dated but I think that for the most part, it's still relevant as far as SEO in 2013 and beyond is concerned. I think it has some good tips you can keep in mind as you work on this project: How It Took Me 4 Days and 1 Backlink To Rank #2 of Google SERP For a High Competition Keyword

Check out the other linkbuilding articles on that site as well as his other SEO experiments. He gives out so much valuable information on SEO.

Hope that helps. Have a good day!

That is some really valuable info Cecille. Thank you.

I have been advised by some others that it will take awhile to rank given that the competitors are also maintaining their position. None said that it is impossible.

But it is better late then never.

Hi Kheirolfeihzy,

Ranking for a difficult keyword is going to be difficult, but not impossible. Your comment about your competitors reminded me that you can look where they're building their links and build your links on the same sites too. This is on top of any new sites you're building links on. This will help you get an edge over your competitors for the same keyword.

Hope that helps. Have a good day!

Thanks Cecille. I have started creating backlinks everywhere the competitors created theirs.

Going to start with the first 600 of them. Will share the information here on the update of my google position using this method alone.

Hi Kheirolfeihzy,

Thanks for the update!

It's really going to take some time since you're probably going against older sites that have been ranking for those keywords longer that yours.

But, have you seen any progress in your site's rank for your target keywords?

All the best!

Hi Ceille,

Thank you for following my progress.

So far I am only ranking local Google. I have not seen any changes internationally. Still fighting hard. Worse part is, I'm going against sites which have the full keyword and partial keyword in they URL. I only have my brand in the URL.

Do you think there's hope? LOL!

Getting high Page Rank is not a one-click-process, rather it is a steady and interesting activity. You have to bring your page
in the eyes of search engines as well as users by applying these simple and fair techniques:
1)Article Submission
2) Directory Submission - Submitting your web page/site to directories which index websites of different niche.
3) Blog Commenting - Commenting on other people's blogs with link to your website
4) Press Release - Creating Press Releases about your website
5) Forum Posting - Posting in forums with links in your forum signature.
6) Social Bookmarking - Submitting pages in your website to social bookmarking sites like Digg and Reddit
7) Search Engine Submission - Manually submitting your website to search engines
* Making a catchy "title" and using relevant "keywords" would make it easy for search engines to bring your page in front of users quickly and peruse clients to check whats in your page.
and most important there are many professionals like http://www.thewebpole.com/search-engine ... _id=456994 out there who helps in increasing the page rank through some methods. you can also get their assistance

It takes time to rank for even ordinary keywords .Whats the use?By the time you complete the final task for ranking, the algo changes and new factors come into play. The prudent thing is to use long tail keywords that are easy to rank.
