How to mantain a domain's PR after purchasing it?

How to mantain a domain's PR after purchasing it? Is it possible only with original content? Can I join some blog networks like MyBlogNetwork or similar to have content or I'll lose the PR?

You would want to have original content on it. Duplicate content has a way of pulling down PR and rankings.

Maintaining the backlinks and adding more is the key not the content. Don't worry duplicate content won't hurt your PR. I have a few sites with good PR that i purchased for linking purposes. They all have duplicate content (plr articles) on them and over a year none have lost PR in the long run, if they maintained their links. Sometimes after you buy a domain with PR it will drop when you change its servers but after a while it comes back. So just build the links!

Changing your servers would only drop your rankings for a short period of time because of the change in your IP Address. Once the search engines recognize that you just moved your website, but still maintain the same site, your rankings will go back to where it once was. As mentioned by the others, just continue to add backlinks and articles to your site, with the goal of not only maintaining your PR but improving on it.
