When compiling forum targets, how to know if the signature forum links and profile links are crawlable (not just viewed by forum members)?

why does it matter/ dont look at forum marketing as link building. My best forums are private forums that are paid members only, and not indexed by google. You should think about the traffic you are getting and not SEO. most forums are worthless for SEO anyway, so if you are just looking for links, dont waste your time on them.

I am not sure if there is a way to know because I don't really bother to know. Most of the time forums are "no follow" so I find that irrelevant. Also, I participate in forums to gain a reputation for myself and my website. That's how I get traffic from there. I build/get links from other ways.

As far as the spiders seeing your link, anything that you can see in a forum without being logged in will be seen. But most often, they won't get indexed or followed because of the noindex/nofollow tags. But as my brother said, forum marketing is more about reputation than link building, so as long as you are active in a forum, it shouldn't make much difference.
