Have I been sandboxed?

Just joined, so hi all.

I'm having an odd problem and I'm looking for advice/opinions.

I created an affiliate site promoting a game guide early March 2011. I built quality content to around 20 pages and started link building from articles, blog posts, bookmarks and directories. Nothing massive, just a slow steady stream of links.

By late March I was in the top 3 positions for 2 important keywords and it started making some money (my first affiliate site!). Then in early April, two things happened;

1. I added some Amazon ads
2. The same night, my site went down sometime during the night. It was running before I went to bed and down in the morning. Back up early morning.

That very morning I checked my SERPS I found my site wasn't even in the top 100 for those 2 keywords.

I was (and still am) indexed (checked via site:) and I have kept building links slowly my manually writing lots of articles on sites with very high indexing rates.

The situation now is the site still isn't in the top 100 pages for 1 of those keywords and for some reason a page (IE. not the root domain) is now position 67 for the other keyword.

So I was wondering if anyone has experienced this? I'm not really sure if I've been sandboxed or hit by the panda update or have been labeled a 'thin affiliate' (maybe due to the Amazon links?) or something else.

I'm still building links but can't really see an end.

Thanks in advance.

PS. I took the Amazon links off the day my serps died, probably won't make a difference but I did it just in case.

Thanks for your reply. I had thought about the Google dance but I had read it doesn't last as long as this. This site (for those 2 keywords) has vanished from the top 100 pages for just over a month now.

I guess I'll just have to continue with the seo work and hope it comes back eventually.

I agree! Just continue with your SEO work. Worrying about it is counter-productive. Your time is better spent adding quality content to your site and building those backlinks.

If you are building lots of links into a site that is sand boxed then would Google not realize that those are artificial links since many people can not see your site in order to link to it? Would Google not recognize that?

Private message me if you want to purchase AffiloJetPack through my affiliate link because if you do purchase it through my link I will show you how you can have your web site business owned by a protected company that you own and operate for a small price relatively, and you can have people, Google, and affiliate programs pay you in a strong currency like the Hong Kong dollar, Aussie Dollar, or the New Zealand Dollar and the money goes into a protected bank instead of into the currency or a bank in the crumbling economy of your debt ridden country wherever you may be. You do not have to be paid in a quickly depreciating currency anymore and you can worry less about your business being taken away from you if it is attacked for selling something GOOD that a police state agency does not like since they are protecting the big sellers who do not like to lose profits to little old you and your web site business.
