Getting indexed by Google

With a new site how long should I wait before becoming concerned about search engines not indexing me? Having said that should I start trying to get indexed when I have put a skeleton of the site up. Just to avoid flipping the open sign and waiting on customers to walk in? I know I am being impatient at best. For those of you who have seen the animated movie Madagascar think of the scene with King Julian in the tree "How long is this going to take!!!!"

I just want to know how quickly from getting an idea, research, and building I can move from woe to go.

You need to get some good inbound links. In the Blue Print Mark talks about a website called SubmitEdge.com. You could pay these guys for a couple PR 3, 4 or 5 links and you should be fine. Also consider creating some articles with LSI keyword rich titles. This helps drastically. If you are not sure about LSI, checkout Collin McDougal, he is the master of this. Also look of LSI on Wikipedia.

One more quick thing about LSI. A good way to get indexed is write a "How To" article. Look up all the titles on the first results page for your keyword and then place the words "How To" or a variation of it. So if you niche was Knitting Supplies, you could look up all the titles and then put something like How to Buy Knitting Supplies, or How to Get Knitting Supplies. This might not be the best example, but I found many times that people use the search engines to ask questions. Creating How To articles also create long tail keywords that gets hit on quite frequently.

Usually, I get indexed pretty fast. All I do is submitting an article to ezinearticles.com

You can also set up a blog on blogger blogs.

you can post the url now instead of waiting to earn money from your site. To earn money you need traffic. The squidoo and twitter options can help you to increase traffic. Visit

Hi Mario,

You need to register first at ezinearticles.com, and then, all you need to do is to submit an article with 2 links to your site in the resource box.

I'm a paid member so my articles are approved fast. For others, it may take days.

A good way to overcome this problem is to submit your article with links to goarticles.com because it's approved in less than 48h (often less than 24 hours).

TIP: Submitting your website to propeller.com is a good way to get indexed fast as well (it's even faster than articles I think)

One of the easiest way to get indexed is to Digg one of your articles. Get a friend to do the same and you should be indexed in less than 24 hours.

Another good option to get most of your pages indexed is to create a sitemap. Ping your sitemap url with pingomatic or ping.in. This will get your sitemap visited by crawlers and a very controlled indexing.

A third but equally fast option is to bookmark your site on ten bookmarking sites.

Remember, there is a difference between crawling and Indexing. You might get crawled by SE but it might be sometime before they show you on SERP. The best way to avoid that issue is to start with some unique articles.

Hope that helps!

Wow infoprenuer where did you get that marketing information?

My biggest thing is once I get this site done and doing something I know I have a blueprint that I can build on. I am happy to say Mark is wiping the floor with me. Even though we are in the same niche. I have gotten kind of lazy in I haven't put the finishing touches on my site. Computers and Networking are my Forte and I have already bought domains to move into those niche. Warcraft Utopia is an attempt at a store for specific warcraft items. I have found that i have gotten listed quicker using a wordpress blog than an html site. The problem I am having I dont know if I want to blog about computers or do the affiliate thing or both. I do know i need to start drving traffic in massive amouts to all my sites.
I started not to share but, a friend of mine who also is in computers calls me paranoid and who else to help me but a group of people doing the same thing? To help drive traffic I have created another squidoo lens and deep linked into my site. it's not on a money page but, I just want to see what happens. Also I have submitted the home page to submitedge.com to put the site on 100 directories. Next i will go through and check my keyword density. other than that I need trafffic, traffic, traffic lol
