Hi mondecris,

The hashtags on Facebook work the same way as they do in Twitter: it means your post is part of a larger discussion or is part of a main category. When you click on the hashtag, you are taken to something similar to a category archive page, where all posts from your friends with that hashtag are shown.

I don't think hashtags have a big impact on SEO. It's good to use it when you can though, particularly if you're posting a link to an article on your site. If it's about losing weight, then you can use a popular hashtag about losing weight when you post the article. This makes it easier for your users to identify the article and what it's about so it's a good practice to use it when possible.

Hope that helps. Have a good day!

Even though I don't think Facebook hashtags have any impact on SEO, they are overall a promising innovation that internet marketers can benefit from. Hashtags make it easier for marketers to engage with their potential clients in a meaningful way, because marketing messages are now more likely to reach the right audience. Other than that, it's now easier to search for relevant discussions on Facebook and thus inform the audience there about our products or services.

Hashtags have an important role in facebook as:-
Search for a specific hashtag from your search bar.
Click on hashtags that originate on other services, such as Instagram.
Compose posts directly from the hashtag feed and search results.
