Content VS Backlinks?

Hello folks,

What is considered as more significant, creating content or building back links?

 SEO-wise, both are significant. You need both to rank on SERPs and although it is possible to rank for content and on-page SEO only, backing up your onsite SEO with off-site work/link building can speed up the process of your website ranking.

 what came first, the chicken, or the egg.

The way I started out firstly focused on quality content that is unique and keyword rich in areas like the top, center and bottom of the page. If images are part of the content, I would use alt tag to describe the image, but toss in a keyword as well. When I was happy with that, I started working on backlinks.

 Both content creation and backlink building are important. While there is not straight answer to what is most significant since SEO is not about doing any one thing. While doing seo you need to take several other factors in consideration. i.e. Content creation is on-page activity which might earn you external links if you product quality linkable content, while building backlinks is off page activity.

In my opinion, I think that you are putting the problem the wrong way. The problem should not be content vs backlinks, but content AND backlinks. This is the recipe for success.
Create content to attract your visitors and try to get backlinks to increase your ranking in the SERPs.

 It is quite weird to have to make a choice between content and backlinks in SEO. Both are important for a website to rank on SERP as air and water are significant assets for a human being.

With content and backlinks, you can win the game of SEO.

 I think both works simultaneously. When you create a good and quality content than it will automatically share by users and hence help you to get natural backlinks. So, according to me both are essential factor in terms of seo.

 Both are very important, as according to Google: content, links, and RankBrain are the most significant factors in ranking.

 It works together, so you can't have one or the othe. You have to have both.

You can build backlinks going around in forums and commenting on blogs. But what happens to the traffic you'll get from these websites? Unless you're directing them to a sales page via your affiliates link (which is highly doubtful as more and more forums and blogs no longer allow affiliate links), you'll be referring the traffic to your website where you need to have content waiting to persuade the users to purchase.

It's not the same case with content, and this is what makes it just as important as building links. Your content will not only persuade users to purchase, it can also help you get more links and traffic to your website by becoming popular, or viral. Well-written or well-made content can do that for your site.

 Both Quality Content and Quality back links are useful for ranking and reputation of a site. Content helps to promote your keywords and rank they higher in search engines and Back link building helps to build your website traffic from various relevant sources.

 Both are compulsory in SEO terms. For SEO, quality content and quality backlinks both are the major terms used to keep the reputation of the website on a top. With the best quality content, you can achieve the quality backlinks.

 Both are important as without Links only content can't help and also without content only Links can't help.

 Both are like Boss and Employ, just like only boss cant handle the whole work and without boss employees can't get work and salary.
Same in this case only quality content cant work it's a mandatory to build some backlinks.

Firstly you should have content and than backlinks. But backlinks cannot exist without content 8)
