Has anyone noticed the changes in Google when you try to do keyword research? Try doing a search in quotes.
Once upon a time a search of keywords in quotes used to return pages that only had the exact match for the keywords. Now you get a whole lot of relevant pages, which is great for general niche research, not so good for keyword research.
Using allintitle;" " still seems to work OK though.

Since TT 4.0 came out, haven't really touched Google when doing research. Thanks for the tips Chris. :)

One thing that's frustrating me right now is my sites are "cycling". I'll have about a week or two where I'm getting a lot of Google traffic, followed by 2 or 3 weeks of hardly any Google traffic. If everyone is experiencing this, then it seems to me that Google's a bit too hard to predict.
(And these are for 4 to 6 word long tails that were steady on page one for weeks before the summer started.)

I know what you mean Grady - I have one site that is doing that but I have another that has stayed steady all the way through and even increased in rankings since Panda's 1 and 2.
Part of the joys of relying on Google I guess - frustrating though!
James - While TT is cool, I still use Google as a part of KW reasearch - while I am relying on them I may as well use their stats :o)

Thats true too. You should never become too reliant on one source of information, no matter what you are doing, but I have been playing with TT 4 and testing the results, so I didn't want to corrupt the data I was collecting.
