Can Outlook Import EML Files?

Outlook doesn’t natively support importing EML files directly in bulk — at least not in a straightforward way. Unlike other email clients like Windows Live Mail or Thunderbird, Outlook’s built-in import/export wizard does not include an option for importing EML files.

However, Outlook import EML files by dragging and dropping them into a folder, but this only works for a small number of emails and doesn’t maintain your folder structure or attachments properly for large batches.

That’s why many users prefer to use a third-party tool like Advik EML Converter, which converts EML files into a single PST file. PST is Outlook’s native data file format, so you can then easily import the PST file into Outlook using the “Import/Export” wizard — preserving all your emails, attachments, and folders accurately.
