How Many Types Of SEO Existed?

Inform me about types of SEO. One friend say that because of wrong SEO, my site will be banned by search engines. Is it possible ?
If Yes, the which SEO is more preferable ?

 Hi,

There are different SEO methods and they are divided between the "white-hat" and the "black-hat" SEO. The black hat SEO tends to use shady methods like spamming links on websites to manipulate the search engines to rank your pages higher. Using black hat SEO methods will get your site penalized and taken off the search engines results pages.

 Hi,

On-Page and Off-Page SEO refers to the optimization you will do. Your webpage needs to be optimized from within it so you use on-page SEO. That would usually mean tweaking the title of the page, adding meta tags, etc.

Off-Page SEO is optimization for your site done outside of your webpage/site. This usally means link building like article submission or blog commenting.

 Your friend is right. There are different types of SEO . One is white hat SEO and other is black hat SEO. White hat SEO is that which follows all Google guidelines and is considered as good according to SEO point of view.
Clack hat SEO is that which uses sources that makes spam and are not acceptable by search engines. Website owners uses this technique to get fast results but soon they face low rankings and traffic.
