Google is not showing my meta description

I have properly filled my title tag and meta description for my website using Yoast.

I just checked the SERPs and realized that Google isn’t showing my specified meta description text but something else.

Any idea why doesn't meta description not appear in Google and how to make my meta descriptions appear in the SERPs?

It happens due to the entered search query. Google tries to return more specific results according to the search query.

Could you double check if you are more than one SEO plugin installed in WP? If yes, then just deactivate the other SEO plugin. That may be the case.

It means google think that the fetch data is more appropriate for the said searched query rather than the meta description you have entered!!

Google uses the context of the user’s actual search phrase, so it also depends on the user search query, whether Google will show your meta-description or not.

Google will instead replace the meta description with one of its own from its top 3 "SERP" websites.

Maybe the search engine is ignoring your title or meta description and pulling information from elsewhere, such as Open Directory Project.

The title or meta description you specified isn't relevant to the search query. The title or meta description you specified is too short or too long.

These can be the main reasons that your description is not shown by google. Maybe your content length is too long or too short. Maybe Google found a more relevant description than the description given by you with the user search query on your webpage.

The title tag and the meta description are some suggestions for what Google should display in the search results against the user search query. By using Yoast, excellent meta descriptions for posts can be generated. There may be many situations where Google Would not display your whole meta description.

Some potential causes are-

1. Wrong Source code or Missing
2. The title or meta description you specified isn’t relevant to the search query
3. Google cache is outdated
4. The meta description you specified is too short or too long.
5. Google ignored your preferred meta description
