Whats going on with Adwords & Their Content Network?

Hi all

I wonder if Mark has any news for us whats the latest with Adwords and placing ads on the content network. Many, many people are complaining, including myself, that when you place an ad (image or text) on the content network it gets flagged for "pending review" and can take weeks before your ads "hopefully" get displayed.

I have browsed their forum and read through tons of complaints and there are some wild rumors going around about that they are either "understaffed" ; "could not be bothered with the small advertisers" etc.. , business is business, so if google wants to take that approach then I dont know.

Anyway, this is frustrating as striking while the iron is hot does not apply anymore. Well on the content side of Adwords that is. Image ads are a major problem to get approved now days.

Mark since you do plenty of advertising on Adwords and probably speak a lot to Google have you any news on this? MSN or Yahoo advertising is looking mighty appealing at this point :)

I know there are some experiencing delays with AdWords approval but nothing out of the ordinary that I'm aware of since most ads are approved through an automated process.

There are some cases where the approval process has to be done manually and it may take some days.

If there has been no progress complete this form to have them follow it up.

Hi Mark

Thanks for the reply and for link. My ads were finally reviewed today (only took them like 4 days!), however they were declined. Google didnt fancy the CPA dating offer I thought of promoting, so I deleted my ads. Well back to the drawing board for me. We win some & lose some...

It's an automated process unless you're using trademarks and other certain keywords in the ad. If that's the case, you gotta wait for them to manually review them, which usually means they'll get declined.
