something really odd happening

I haven't done any PPC for my newest site and for that mater for my old sites for a while, I just wasn't getting a good return. My big site is a pr 3 has been between page 12 and 18 in search results for the past 3 months. I update little things on my site all the time to keep it fresh and normally stays in the search page range i mentioned above. I wasn't getting much traffic for the most part maybe getting 5 to 8 visits a day so I decided to do some PPC since google sent me a 100 dollar free advertising voucher to use. I tested my ads and looked at what my competition was using for ads on keyword spy and my ads seemed good so I started running them. I was only getting about 5 clicks a day with the ads and it didn't matter what version of the ad I was using I would still get about 5 clicks a day as well as my normal 5 to 8 through search results. All of a sudden I wasn't getting any clicks from search results so after about 5 days of this I checked google to see what was going on and my site is no where to be seen for my main keywords that I have been showing up on between page 12 and 18 for the past 3 months. I have checked for 5 days now and have checked from page 1 all the way to where I have no more pages to look at and my site hasn't been listed at all. I am still getting about 5 clicks a day from my ads but what the heck could have happened to my site, is it possible that it has something to do with my running adwords ads. I have had my site drop off the charts before but for only a day or 2 but never for 5 and today is the 6th day that is isn't showing up so I am at a loss of what could be going on or what I can do. Anyone have any ideas at all. thanks

Hi Mark,

I'm sorry to hear that. The first thing I would do is check if my sites are being indexed. This Help page in the Google Webmaster site has some pointers on what to do when you site is not doing well in search pages. I don't think it has anything to do with your Adwords campaign. Google would usually suspend your Adwords account if they found a problem with it, and not your site. Still, you might want to check the campaigns you're running, and while you're at it, check the Google Adwords Landing Page and Quality Guidelines as well.

Hi Chris,

SERoundtable says no Panda Update 2.5 so I don't think it's the Panda update that got Mark's site.

Sorry Cecille, but that post in your link was a week before Panda 2.5

There is a Panda 2.5 and it has had an effect on many sites. This from SERoundtable on Oct 12th

Hi Chris,

I'm sorry. I did see their update confirming there was a Panda 2.5 rolled out and referenced to that same article in another forum thread. :)

It's possible that Mark's sites are one of those that were hit in the update. Is your website back now, Mark?

Actually it isn't but the funny thing is that my spot in the search results for every other keyword string is still in the same spot. I am on page 2 for 2 keywords I am on page 12 for my other main and hard to rank for keyword and that is where it has been for months but what I have always considered my top keywords I want to rank for hasn't shown up yet. I did however discover that my H1 tag wasn't there anymore and I am not sure how that happened. I know I re wrote some spots on my home page but just a few lines and they were no ware near my H1 tag. I was looking at my view page source page and found it so I fixed it about 5 days ago and it still hasn't shown up. So I am still not sure what is happening with it.
