How to Import MBOX to Google Workspace?
To
import MBOX files into Google Workspace (Gmail) manually, Google Takeout can be used to first download emails as MBOX, and then import them to be uploaded through Thunderbird or IMAP. Get Thunderbird installed, import the MBOX file through the ImportExportTools NG add-on, and set it to connect to your Google Workspace account with IMAP. Drag and drop emails from the local MBOX folder into your Gmail inbox. Alternatively, use command-line utilities such as mb2md to translate MBOX to separate EML files, and upload them through Gmail's SMTP or Google Workspace Migration for Microsoft Outlook (GWMMO).
But import in bulk is limited. Thunderbird IMAP sync is slow for large mailboxes and breaks down for over 25MB emails (Gmail attachment limit). Folder trees and labels break down and must be manually remapped.
To escape the limitations of the manual processes, use the MigrateEmails MBOX Migrator as the most appropriate process you should use to open MBOX mail to Google Workspace. With this software, you can migrate MBOX files to G Suite and that too without going through the lengthy process. This software also allows migrating MBOX to other email clients with ease. It can also be Convert MBOX to EML along with other files. Further, the multiple default features of the software support MBOX migration hassle-free.
