re. some queries about creating images with gimp

Hi

I am trying to cut out an image of a ring in Gimp.. there is an outer line to cut out and then the around the inner side of the ring. However, when I press enter, the marching ants do not come on.Also, how do I turn the scissor tool off, because when i go to a different window, the scissor tool is still active. Hoping someone can help

I could help you out with Photoshop, but I haven't used Gimp in years and years.

I love that description of a selection box though... marching ants! I had to select something to see it, and sure enough... it looks like marching ants.

 Why you don't use Photoshop? I think it is more comfortable.
But you can find a lot video tutorials for gimp in th web ;)

Because it's expensive. Gimp is free.
