Why do I get this message when I am installing WP?

Hi,

I'm getting this error when trying to install WP:

"We cannot contact your web-server at the moment. It takes up to an hour to set up a new package. Please wait a bit and try again.

Go Back"

 You might be having some hosting issues.

Can you tell me what webhost you are using. If your site is on Premium Hosting, please try again and follow these instructions: How do I install Wordpress on my Premium hosting account?

I am using my own.

Can you tell me how to back up the wp, please?

 The Wordpress "Codex" (manual) gives exact instructions for backup and restore. Because WordPress contains several different parts, you need to back them all up individually. If you need an FTP ("File Transfer Protocol") program that's free, look at the plugin for Firefox. The best FTP program is "WS_FTP" (not free).
