Web Design Software - Hotdog or Coffee Cup?

I am a new entrepreneur on a tight budget. I would like to use dreamweaver, but it's not in my budget right now. I noticed that Mark had mentioned Hotdog or Coffee Cup. Which one would you recommend and which version? Thank you all for your help! I appreciate it!

Hi People, first post here, glad to see you.

Jay, you can try nvu.com, it's free, and a good option if you can't afford for the moment something more expensive like Dreamweaver or Frontpage (arg!).

Regards!

I'd also vote for nvu. I haven't used it myself, but I know people who do and think it's great. And considering it's free it's even better!

There's also SiteSpinner from www.virtualmechanics.com - I think it is really easy to use.

superb features that I have yet to see in any other
software and certainly not any for the price they are asking.

After I saw these 9 Flash demo's and have been using Dreamweaver
for a few years now, I was quite impressed considering the $70 price.

See what you think?

Hi Jay -

I've tried Dreamweaver and even though it's considered the industry standard the learning curve was just too steep for me as a newbie at the time.

I then found a free alternative called 1st Page from Evrsoft. It's fantastic. The new 2006 version has a annoying nag screen when you start it and stop but other than that it's great.

I also recently tried Nvu as I heard so many raves about it but after using 1st Page it seems really primative.

Hope that helps
:)

You could also put up a site with wordpress - it's free
