Navigation column as footer - Possible spider issues?

Is there any dis-advantage to not using a standard nav column on the left for spiders to "see?".I have put the nav on the page footer on my new site because I think it looks better, but I am wondering if I am shooting myself in the foot as far as the spiders are concerned?

No you are not. Spiders will read your nav last either if you have a column on the left or the bottom. It depends on how well u know how to structure your site :) The only thing I can think of is visitors not seeing the nav right away.
