search rankings

I have been using Traffic travis for at least a year or so and have noticed that when looking at different stats for example Yahoo US versus Yahoo Australia that I have many pages on page one in the US and a couple pages in position 2 on page one but the same page shows up on position 90 on Yahoo Australia. This doesn't seem to happen on Google for other countries so I am wondering why it happens for Yahoo, Shouldn't there search system be the same between the US and Australia. Another thing that is odd is that I have at least 3 times as many pages listed as indexed in Australia as I do in the US. What could be going on.

Hi Mark,

Search engines these days have different algo for their local search engines. You may not have noticed the slight changes in the results of Google but the same thing happens with Google local search.

If you want your website to be seen more in Yahoo/Google Australia, you should take a look at how you can optimize your website for local search results: http://www.wordstream.com/blog/ws/2011/ ... timization

I hope that helps.
