.edu compared to .com with same PR

For backlinking purposes, how would you compare a .com forum with a PR4 domain and a PR n/a inner page, with a .edu forum with a PR4 domain and a PR n/a inner page?

Even though the latter is a .edu, is it necessarily more valuable, despite having the same page rank of n/a?

Thank you.

All links are valuable as long as the link comes from a relevant page (regardless of PR). Links from .edu domains are good links since only accredited post-secondary educational U.S. institutions are currently eligible to use .edu domains. It is managed under the authority of the United States Department of Commerce so there is greater level of “trust” to the link. You could read more about .edu backlinks on this article: Is it pointless getting .gov or .edu backlinks?
