Can i have someone do my backlinking while Im still building

my site has one page complete so far, can i have somebody do the backlinking while the site remains incomplete? or should the site be completed first>?

 you can start building links as soon as you have a page up. often I will build up 3-5 pages, build links to those pages, do another 3-5 pages, build links to those pages etc...

remember too, your site is really never complete. my relationships site that I started with AB started with 30 pages, but over time I have built it up to 60 pages plus a blog....and I am still building it.

 JM is right. You have to build backlinks as you go. You cant wait until your site has 30 pages or so before you start building backlinks.

 I just build my links as soon as I put up 20 to 30 articles as I would have all my articles ready to go (From Outsourcing).
That only takes a day as you will already have your keywords and pages mapped out.
However as Jim pointed out, if you only do 5 articles at a time (say 5 a week) because you are writing them yourself or you can not afford the 30 articles in one hit, then yes.. start building linkbacks.
