I have a weight loss site with affiliate links in it. 3 of my keywords were ranking on page 1 and 2 of google and others much lower. I had applied for an adsense acoount which got rejected citing " unacceptable site content" .Couple of days after getting the rejected reply , none of my pages are visible on google. (The site is still indexed). Could the adsense rejection be the reason for my site disappearing from google or is it the so called google dance.

sounds like the Google Dance.Google people dont really communicate things like that with each other, and the adsense team and the search ranking team are totally separate.

There's no need to worry about Google dance. Your page rankings will soon settle down and climb the SERPs steadily as long as you build backlinks and make sure that the content on your site is of high quality and highly relevant to your targeted keywords.
