Should I replace copied content with original content?

Hi,

I am new here and I really like the website.
I have a poker related website (I am an affiliate) for 2 months and I am an amature on SEO, but a good learner and a hard working person.

I have the permission of two of the most famous poker websites to copy their content (news and articles) to my site and I am copying about 2-3 pages a day. I started doing this to make my site a growing one to Google's "eyes".

Now I see that this strategy isn't so good and I feel I can find content in places like articlez.com or NeedAnArticle.
I know that is better to have 20 original articles than 200 copied.

What about the already published (copied) content?
Do I have to delete it? I will have about 12 pages then (I have 150 now).
What if I have all the articles together? Do I miss Google ranking?

Thank you in advance!

Hi,
This is entirely your choice.
Original content is Always better than duplicate content.
I certainly wouldn't be adding anymore copied content if I were you, just focus on some fresh content.
But again, up to you.
Just my 2 cents
Regards

Thank you.

I want to keep the already posted content because I have links in facebook and twitter.

What about search engines?
If google crowls 120 pages copied and 20 original, what is the result?

Knowing google, anything can happen.
I honestly don't think it will be a huge problem, but then again.. it could get sandboxed etc...
Just get some link backs to your original content.
the choice is yours.
Anyone else have an opinion on this?

Finally, I have decided to get rid of all this duplicate (legal) content.

I want my own original articles and believe me... It was a great feeling when I posted something that my coach and me created for the website!

What about these 120 pages I am going to just delete?
Their links are indexed in google and there are some links around the web (I care about google).

Is that a problem?

If you want to erase the copied content from you site even though you have links to them already, then I would keep all the URLS and just replace the content with new original content.

This way you get to keep all the links you already gathered, but also now would have original content on your site for google to love.

Good luck.

Somafutures....

You are right!

After the "change":

1. I feel nice when I am surfing my website with original content.
2. Seems like search engines appreciate that (I have some action!)
3. Some reviews showing far more better results for my site with 30 pages than with 150 before.

:)

You made the right move, marios521!

It always feels great when you're doing the right thing :) Your customers will also feel your sincerity since you have worked hard to build your own site. The search engines will appreciate it as well rewarding you with higher rankings (hopefully!).
So everybody's happy :)
